Pure Thermal Addresses Delta T Challenges in Retrofit Heating Projects

20C Delta T Dethermina Heat Pump

Meeting the demands of existing commercial heating & hot water systems is often one of the biggest challenges in retrofit projects, especially when it comes to Delta T. At present most commercial heat pumps in the main are unable to operate with wider temperature differentials and cannot achieve a 20°C Delta T.

This limitation forces engineers to introduce additional hydraulic workarounds such as separation heat exchangers, mixing arrangements, buffer strategies, or “backend protection” to operate the heat pump with a low return temperature. These are not desirable design features; they are compromises created by equipment limitations.

Being capable of achieving a Delta T of 20°C, the A-Therm80 integrates directly into existing systems without requiring additional protection measures or special hydraulic arrangements. It delivers the required temperature differential as part of its standard design – no workarounds, no additional extras and no added complexity.

The A-Therm80 is available exclusively in the UK through Pure Thermal and offers:

  • Higher efficiency enabled by low return temperatures
  • No need for backend protection
  • Simplified integration with reduced design barriers
  • 5°C to 20°C Delta T capability
  • 80°C flow temperature even at –20°C ambient
  • Single stage monobloc design
  • Natural refrigerant R290
  • 30kW to 300kW nominal output range

Why This Matters:

The-A Therm80 is engineered for real world buildings where system conditions shift minute to minute. Its ability to operate at Delta T 20°C enables straightforward, cost-effective integration without redesigning existing systems.
